FAQ

  • How can I know if therapy will work for me?
Similar to other healthcare services, there can't be a guarantee that something will be 100% effective for you. However, the most significant predictor of positive outcomes in therapy is having a great working relationship with your therapist. Choosing a therapist can be a difficult and intimidating process. I would be happy to arrange a brief call with you before we sit down for a session to answer initial questions you may have and to help you get a sense for what working with me would be like. If it ends up that we would not be a good fit together, I would be happy to refer you to other organizations or providers in the area.
  • Do you take insurance?
I am paneled with Optum Health (United Medical Resources and United Behavioral Health), Aetna, Aetna Student Health, Community Health Alliance (CHA), Meritain, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Due to the shifting nature of insurance plans, coverage, and policies, it is your responsibility to verify that I am an in-network provider for your specific plan and know your coverage and personal financial responsibility. Helpful questions to ask an insurance representative include: Are mental health services covered in my plan? Are there session limits for counseling? Is there a deductible I need to meet before counseling may be covered? If so, how much? What would be my copay? Is out of network coverage available? What are the terms of that coverage?
  • What if you are not within my insurance network?
I am able to provide a superbill/invoice of services (see this website for more information https://www.choosingtherapy.com/superbill/) that you can submit to your insurance company if you have out-of-network coverage available in your plan. Private pay arrangements are also available for those who wish to pay out of pocket.
  • Do you have a waitlist?
Please call or email me and we can discuss current scheduling options and estimates.
